Whew. It’s morning, and I think that Chanel and I are both amazed that it’s over! We have been working on this thing for so long! Yesterday everything went so great in Melbourne! We had run into a few snags dealing with the venue, and set up requirements, but it all came together beautifully. I have never used such a HUGE screen, and had quite that good of a sound system. So that made a huge difference. The room was a tight squeeze, but worked out, and as a beautiful setting! There were so many girls that I remembered from the times I have been here in the past, and it was just such a pleasure to see people, and catch up! You girls are just totally amazing and beautiful! I love you all!!! I had such a great day! and now that you know my secrets! You have to keep them! (you know what I am talking about!)… for the Melb. Girls, we’ll be getting ready to send out the entire calendar instructions, and I will start posting step by steps for the months we didn’t get to!
Here is a link to my ‘To your heart be true’ presentation. I hope that you will enjoy it, and fill your mirror album with things that will inspire you! I have loved, loved hearing from so many of you! your emails and comments have just made the whole thing worth while! So thank you!
I have one thing to ask of you!?
Would you please email the following people, to THANK them for their generosity with Create ’08, and tell them that you appreciate your support! They will love that! it’s nice to be appreciated!
tim holtz: he was responsible for getting us the craft mats to use, ALL THE INKS!! and the handles with the foam. he is SOO great to work with, and would love to hear from all of you how much you loved the distress inks!
ok, i will be dropping in a couple more email addresses.. but i have to track them down-they are on my home computer! (ugh).
many of you asked Chanel for her blog address: Chanel73.blogspot.com
keep checking back! we will be compiling the class tool kits: inks, stamps and masks and marking them for sale... so checking back to the blog if you want to snatch up some of what we played with in class.
this is what i am jealous of.. i REALLY want one of these:
fiscars gave some amazing (amazing) door prizes... thanks LYN and Wendy for bringing!
This PINK trimmer has built in speakers and an MP3 cradle.
AND, it fits a 13" page.
you are a LUCKY GIRL!
Hi Guys, Chanel here ... just a little edit from me! I have just emailed out the Calender pages for all the pages so you can get to work completing your calender, some of the email addresses must have changed, so if you DO NOT recieve an email, please email me so i can get it to you.
Also, i wanted to say THANK YOU to all of you great girls. You were so cool and fun to be with and many of you gave me some wonderful feedback and support ... i really really appreciate all of this. I have posted some more photos on my blog ... so go take a look! :-)

I just want to post a quick note to all those that attended our Brisbane Create ’08… THANK YOU FOR COMING! What a fabulous time we had with all of you! you were so fun, so excited, and so gung ho to dig in and get to work! I sort of tried to get in more than was really possible! And I am going to have to re-calibrate for Melb. Thanks for being the guinea pigs for me! you were so awesome! It was so great to see many of you that I remembered from being here years ago! We did some major stuff! You have tons of new ideas, and new techniques to be trying that will supercharge your creative spirits! I am working on emailing out the instructions for the whole calendar so you can keep your creative mo-jo going!, and hopefully we will have a link for the entire ‘to your heart be true’ class by the end of the weekend. I will keep you posted!
Again, Chanel and I both want to apologize for the break down in communication about the ending time of the event. Initially, we had posted that the day would be over at 4pm. The venue management had indicated to us at a later time, that we had to be out by 3:30, and would NOT work with us on that. We are so sorry that our day got cut short by ½ hour. We should have communicated this change to you at the beginning of the day, and with everything going on, we forgot to make that clear. I hope that despite that hiccup, (and my massive coughing spasms) that you had a wonderful time, and went away feeling inspired, motivated to create, and having learned something NEW!! you have tons of goodies to play with! we’d LOVE to see your completed calendar projects!
Those of you attending in Melbourne, we are in for a great day! it’s a busy and full day! so get ready! we look forward to meeting you all next week!

We wanted to give you a heads up on what items we’ll have for sale at the BRISBANE event tomorrow...i am putting up a Download create_08_product_order_form.pdf that has all the item and their prices. If you would like to print it out, and even use this as an order form, you may. We will fill the orders on a first come first serve basis. Sydney is one of those cities... that when i visited there, i had that feeling that i could live there! it's so amazing, people are so nice, and it's totally hip and cooL! i love it. well, i have managed to finagle a stop in Sydney! i will be there on the 18th of December!
There is a new store opening up called SCRAPLOOT, owned by Sue and Craig Milne. they have invited me to be a part of the celebration of the grand opening! i just got the newsletter that she has sent out, so if you live in or around Sydney, or know someone who does... let them know! it's going to be a pretty fabulous party! in the first session, i will be doing some demos, and giving a little presentation to talk about that passion that we all share! and during the second session, it will mainly be a meet and greet, hang out and visit! i have brought a little make-n-take and there are all kinds of give aways and such (see below). i will even be scrapbooking a lucky winner's photo! (no pressure)
this is the schedule of events:
4 to 5:30 is Heidi’s hour and half on inspiration for Session 1 ticket holders. During this time we will run some lucky draws, and some raffles.
5:30 to 7 is general chit chat and mix and mingling . We will also have light refreshments….this is when we will also announce the two competition winners (as well as weighing Heidi stashes – see competition 2 below)
i have especially been laughing at the 'weight competition'... see below!
here is the info:
Well here we are on the count down to Heidi's Visit to Scraploot. Now that our opening weekend is history, onto more exciting events!
Tickets are now available for collection. For those of you that are in the local area feel free to pop in over the weekend to collect them. All tickets will be posted on Monday, except for those of you who still need to settle outstanding orders and payments.
We still have some tickets available, so if you know someone that wants to come, then let them know to book. Ticket sales will close on Monday 15th December as we need to hire chairs for Session 1 as well as organising catering and other bits and pieces for the day.
For Session One, doors will open at 3:45...The shop will be closed to the public from 2pm for us to get ready...
For Session Two, doors will reopen at 5:15.
Entry is by ticket only, so Don't forget your ticket
Dress Code
Yes we have a dress code for the Event.....PINK, PINK, PINK..but that doesn't mean you have to be in pink from head to toe, a pink top, a top with pink in it...just something with Pink!
The Checklist
We have included a checklist of what not to forget incase you misplace the newsletter updates
Your Ticket
One 5 x 7 Black and White Photo
Any of Heidi's books for her to sign (we will have some of Heidi's books available for purchase if you don't already have one)
Gold coins for raffles in aid of the Jane McGrath Foundation
Camera
But wait, there is more...................
Competition One
For those of you that would like to take part, this is our first competition....complete a 12 x 12 layout ... the layout must only use Heidi Swapp product with the exception of one piece of 12 x 12 cardstock. You need to send your layout to us, so that we have them by the 16th December...these will be on display, but before you all see them, Heidi will, and Heidi will select the winning layout. We ask you to identify on the back of your layout your name and your level of expertise, ie Legend (yes, there are some Legends coming), Master, Intermediate, Beginner...this will be so that our beginners and intermediate scrappers have as much of a chance as anyone else, in Heidi selecting their layout. Please post your layouts to Scraploot 4/22 Rowood Road, Prospect NSW 2148 or drop them into the shop. You will be able to take your layout home with you after the event.
Competition Two
So how any of you are obsessed with Heidi? I know 1 or 2 of you that qualify for that....LOL. So competition 2 is to bring along your Heidi Collection of product....now we don't want trolley loads OK (in fact trolleys are banned)...Just in a plastic supermarket bag will do - will have a set of scales on which we will be weighing everyone's Heidi product collection! The one that weighs the most, wins!
if you have any questions, you can contact Sue at Scraploot: 02 96883319
the address is: 22 Rowood Road
Prospect NSW 2148..........see you in Sydney!!!
